Crooked Imaging has made the decision to accepts American Express cards. We don’t charge for the use of Amex cards so why not take advantage and come shop with us.

Hoya ND X400 9 Stop ND Filter Review

Here is a review of the outstanding Hoya ND X400 range of 9 stop filters. We sent one down to Gavin Hoey to have a play with it and see what he thinks. Unfortunately I think its the last time we will see the filter because he loved it!

Second hand kit is now available from Crooked Imaging

Crooked Imaging are now buying and selling second hand photographic equipment. We have a new category on the site where you will be able to buy used kit from camera’s to studio lights etc. This will be updated regularly and as we get new stock and we will be detailing this on our Facebook page too.

All our second hand items will come with a 3 month warranty unless otherwise stated on the listing. All items will be tested and DSLR cameras will have a sensor clean before despatching. The pictures we show on the listing will be of the actual item and not a stock photo and we will always give a true and accurate description.

We are also buying kit for cash, so if you have a camera or lenses etc that you no longer use, why not give us a call. We are always after quality Nikon and Canon gear and best prices are always offered.

Manfrotto Tripod Configurator now on the Crooked Imaging Website

Not sure what tripod you need? Check out our New Manfrotto Configuration tool that has been added to our website. You will be able to specify the Maximum load weight you require from the tripod and head. The interactive configurator will then indicate which tripod legs and heads are compatible. You will be able to bundle them together with the tool to make sure the head and legs combo is balanced and meets your requirements. You will then be able to click on the items which will take you back to the product page at Crooked Imaging which can then be added to the basket for purchasing. The configurator will also indicate all the accessories compatible with the tripod and head selected which can be added to the basket too.

This is a very useful tool which should simplify your selection of tripod and head.

New postage pricing structure

We have been working hard on the postage charges on our website this week.

We have made some improvements to the postage price structure making it cheaper for all orders using ‘Standard Delivery’. For orders under £20 postage is now £1.49, orders under £99 but over £20 postage is now £2.49, orders over £99 postage is now £3.99. For ‘Standard Delivery’ we will mainly be using Royal Mail 1st class but may use a courier which is dependant on the size a weight of the package.

Next Day Delivery is £5.99 on any size order. We will be using either Royal Mail special delivery or a courier service depending on the size and weight of the item.

We have been able to secure some better deals with our carriers and so have reduced our postage charges. Next Day delivery is from as little as £4.99 for any order.

Postal Strikes

We will not be sending any standard delivery packages out that are ordered from Wednesday 21st 14:00 to Friday 23rd October. We will not be sending any packages out on Friday 23rd October as we will be closed for the day. We will try and get as many orders received during this period dispatched on Saturday 24th.

Website Updates

We have been working hard on the website this week.

We have made some improvements to the postage price structure making it cheaper for Next Day delivery (now £5.99 for any size order). We have also included a lower price band for orders under £10. The £2.99 band (orders over £10 but under £35) has been incresed for orders upto £35 (was £25).

We have also introduced a new checkout payment system using Sage Pay. This has simplified the whole process and has made it even more secure as it is 3D secure enabled. You can pay by Credit Card/Debit and Paypal.
