New Tripod from Tamrac – The Zipshot

By | Nov 25, 2009

There are many situations when a tripod is needed to capture a great shot: The fleeting photo opportunity of the perfect sunset, the hummingbird that hovers for just a few moments, or the family photo with everyone in it.

The problem is that most tripods are heavy, difficult to carry and slow to set up which causes many missed photo opportunities. The ZipShot™ tripod is the answer. Just release the two red shock cords and the legs of the ZipShot™ spring open in seconds to a height of 44” (112cm). Attach your camera and you’re ready to shoot.

At only 11 oz. (312g) and 15” (38cm) when folded, the ZipShot™ is ultra-lightweight and ultra-compact. Constructed of sturdy, highquality aluminum with a heavy-duty, metal ball-head, it will hold a DSLR camera and lens up to 3 lbs. (1361g) and all point-and-shoot cameras. A single release lever allows the camera to be positioned at any angle so vertical and horizontal shots are easy.

With the ZipShot™, you can capture the great shots you’ve been missing.

Specification:

  • Ultra-lightweight. Weights only 11 oz. (312g).
  • Ultra-compact. Only 15” (38cm) when folded.
  • Convenient. Stands 44” (112cm) tall.
  • Quick. Tripod legs spring open in seconds.
  • Easy to Carry. Attaches to camera bags and luggage.
  • Sturdy. Heavy-duty, metal ball-head with strong aluminum legs.
  • Max Weight Load. 3 lbs (1361g).

Website Updates

By | Oct 16, 2009

We have been working hard on the website this week.

We have made some improvements to the postage price structure making it cheaper for Next Day delivery (now £5.99 for any size order). We have also included a lower price band for orders under £10. The £2.99 band (orders over £10 but under £35) has been incresed for orders upto £35 (was £25).

We have also introduced a new checkout payment system using Sage Pay. This has simplified the whole process and has made it even more secure as it is 3D secure enabled. You can pay by Credit Card/Debit and Paypal.

Website Postage updates

By | Oct 8, 2009

We have now change our postal charges and no longer offer free postage.  This should actually be better for our customers as the item prices have been reduced.  We also offer courier service options so if you need an item and don’t trust the Royal Mail and inlight of the pending strike action, please use this option.

Tip for the day – Vibration reduction systems

By | Sep 24, 2009

When using a camera or camera with a lens with a vibration reduction system, it is best to turn it off if the camera is mounted on a tripod or solid support.  This is because vibration reduction systems can actually introduce blur if the camera is solidly mounted.

No More Eclipse E2

By | Sep 21, 2009

Photographic Solutions have announced that they have withdrawn E2 Cleaning solution and released a re-formulated Eclipse suitable for all sensor types.

After two years of extensive research with both Eclipse and E2 solutions on Tin-Oxide coated sensors, Photographic Solutions has concluded that Eclipse is every bit as safe as E2. Because Eclipse evaporates faster than E2, it eliminates some of the residue issues caused by using E2 under humid conditions. The specifications for Eclipse have been changed as it now contains less than one part per million contaminant (instead of 5) -making it the purest sensor cleaning agent available today.

And the only sensor cleaning with an iron-clad “no damage” guarantee !

This change should eliminate any confusion when ordering Eclipse as in future there will only be one type of fluid to order.  This can only be good news!
